A civil rights activist recounts her path to becoming an activist. She describes how she followed in the footsteps of civil rights leaders that came before her and the importance of continuing the fight.

Until the threat of my founding community, not until that time, I guess, had I really considered myself as an activist, civil rights, human rights activist. But I've come to realize that's what I am now. But what I realize is even in the small role that I play, there are many people here who are more capable than I, to do this task. I think of Martin Luther King and I, I think of a man who died for a cause, gave his life for a cause. Don't you realize how hard it was to gain what we have today, to be where we are today? It's no time to sit down. It's no time at all.
